Saw Little Richard in the Motown Café in Orlando..... absolutely off his face.... he danced (well went all crazy legged) to Uptight by Stevie Wonder.... with everyone around him clapping and hollering... very surreal it was

seen Chuck and Jerry Lee play live.
Chuck was hilarious. On and off in an hour and 5 minutes, carrying his guitar case full of money.
Jerry Lee stopped a song halfway through, got up from the piano and lamped the bass player for not keeping in time.
Saw Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings play a Chuck Berry song once. Bill introduced it by saying 'who here likes Chuck Berry?' huge cheer. 'Well I think he's a cunt' says Bill going into Sweet Little Sixteen

The Duke from the Four Tops and Otis from The Temptations were on Radio 2 yesterday, as both groups are touring here at the moment.

Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry has chosen his 90th birthday to reveal plans for his first album in almost four decades.
The album, simply titled Chuck, will consist mainly of original songs - written, recorded and produced by the Johnny B. Goode singer.
Berry made the surprise announcement on Tuesday, the day he turned 90.
"This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy," said Berry in a statement, referring to his wife of 68 years.
"My darlin' I'm growing old! I've worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!" he added.
The album will feature collaborations with the veteran singer's two children - Charles Berry Jr on guitar and Ingrid Berry on the harmonica.

"What an honor to be part of this new music," said Berry Jr.
"The St Louis band, or as dad called us 'The Blueberry Hill Band', fell right into the groove and followed his lead."
Hits such as Maybellene, Roll Over Beethoven, and Rock and Roll Music have become masterpieces of the genre.
Number one hit Johnny B. Goode was launched into space in 1977, with the purpose of representing Earth's life and culture to extraterrestrial beings.
Berry received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984 and got the first PEN Award for literary excellence in lyric writing in 2012.
His new record will be launched by Dualtone records next year.
"It is a great honor to be a part of this record and the broader legacy of Chuck Berry," said Dualtone president Paul Roper.
"This body of work stands with the best of his career and will further cement Chuck as one of the greatest icons of
rock and roll."

Like some of Chuck's songs, but don't love any of them.
Superb era for music though was the late 50's and 60's and probably my favourite, even though I wasn't born until 74.

Also insists every UK show he does/did is opposite an Indian restaurant. Show ends, walks out, immediate curry chowdown it with his box of dirty cash. No detail as to if he rigs the ladies lavs in Coventry.

My brother did a gig with him some time ago in the States (at least 25 years as he's been out of the music business since then).
He confirmed that Berry always uses a pick up band, never pays the band, never rehearses with the band before the show, won't tell the band what key the songs are in and finally, gets paid his fee in cash before the show and carries it onstage in a briefcase.

Roll over Dylan - noble prize my arse ....Berry was the first and best poet of rock n roll. Not a particularly savoury character though. Check out the documentary film ... "Hail Hail Rock N Roll" ... some great playing but hilarious throughout. Love the part near the start where he cuts off the interview with his wife before she's said two words!.
